Tim Averre
Mr. Averre is a VoSE here at CVCC. He uses advisory skills and real-life experiences to provide students with the skills they need to pursue a successful career in a technical area of study.

Expectations Guide
In order to have a beneficial experience in working with the Vocational Special Educator (VoSE), it is important that you have a clear understanding of my role in working with you, and your role in working with me.
 
Position: VoSE
Location: Level 2, Office 230, behind Engineering
 
Description of Position:
The VoSE helps to ensure that appropriate CVCC staff members are aware of students with IEPs and 504 plans, and that the plans are being adhered to in our CVCC programs.
 
The VoSE maintains copies of the IEPs in a secure central area.
 
The VoSE participates in the IEP process whenever possible, to share information on appropriate placement and appropriate accommodations for success in our career and technical programs.
 
The VoSE consults with and assists the classroom instructor in the implementation of various IEP accommodations.
 
The VoSE communicates with associate school personnel and parents regarding IEP issues and concerns. 
What is the VoSE's Philosophy?
All students can learn, and we must help students to identify and learn skills required for a successful transition to work, or post secondary education.
 
What do I expect from the students I work with?
Employability and Soft Skills

  • Bring appropriate materials (notebooks, pencils, calculators, etc.)

What are the Major Components of my Role (as VoSE) in Working with You (the Student)?

I can help you with any of the accommodations on your IEP (read tests, provide a quiet area, clarify directions, review notes, etc.) 

What are the Major Projects and Instructional Activities that you can expect to accomplish in working with me?

Any assignment, project, test or quiz, could be something that a VoSE can help you with. 

How can Students Best Utilize my Services and How can I be Reached?

  • You should tell your program instructor anytime you wish to see a VoSE. 
  • Our tutoring room and our offices are located on Level 2, directly behind Engineering.
