Mrs. Ellis has worked at CVCC since 2004. She was initially employed at CVCC as an Adult Ed instructor for the State Tested Nursing Assistant program. From 2005 to 2009, Mrs. Ellis assisted in the High School Health Careers program and was hired full-time in 2009.
Mrs. Ellis received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Duke University and her Master of Science degree in the nursing program from The Ohio State University in 1982. She has worked in a variety of health care settings including cardiothoracic nursing, surgical intensive care, nutritional support, and adult practitioner care. Her last 17 years have been spent in long-term care and this has provided her with the credentials to teach and coordinate the programs for CVCC. After being hired full-time in 2009, Mrs. Ellis continued her own education by pursuing a Master of Education degree which she received in May, 2013.
Mrs. Ellis has also been a State Evaluator for D&S Diversified Technologies which is the company contracted by The Ohio Department of Health to administer the State Tested Nursing Assistant Exam.
In each of her classes, Mrs. Ellis brings real-life experiences to provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to pursue a successful career in the health care industry.
