Architectural & Mechanical Design is the new name for the CAD program.
Computer Aided Design is a skill, key in the transmission of the ideas of engineers, architects, designers, and more into practical drawings needed to manufacture or build products and structures. The program focuses on project and activity based learning. Successful completion of both years can also earn students college credit!
Our first year starts out by looking at general drafting knowledge and skills. We then develop skills that allow us to apply this knowledge in a manufacturing and engineering setting. As we progress through the year we look at universal engineering principles, especially those that influence the architecture and construction sectors. Our senior year content, architecture, is infused throughout the first year to help show the relationships between manufacturing, construction, engineering, and architecture.
We are excited to offer optional program wear each fall. We were excited to again return to Polymath Park, Fallingwater, and Kentuck Knob this past spring.
