National Winners Abbey Bugaj and Maddie Fichter

Abbey and Maddie Nationals Picture
Congratulations Abbey Bugaj & Maddie Fichter of Cuyahoga Valley Career Center and Independence High School for coming in 3rd in the United State during the Educators Rising National Conference in Orlando, Florida in June 2018.  The girls competed in Children's Literature where they had to present their book and read it!  Before their competition, Abbey and Maddie had their faces painted to comoplete their bear costume.  Their book, Carbon and Eco, was a labor of love.  The pictures were hand painted and can be connected with both science and history standards.  The girls hope to publish the book soon.

Both teams achieved 1st Place in the state of Ohio at the Educators Rising Conference and Competitions in March, 2018 and moved on to Nationals.
