TEACHING PROFESSIONS
Prepare for a career in education through observation, in-depth studies, and special projects.
 
Beginning in the 2018-19 school year, Teaching Professions will transition to a two-year program. Both juniors and seniors may enroll in the program for next year. 
       
¨ Ohio College Tech Prep 
CT2 Career Technical Credit Transfer Program 
          Tag Course Equivalent: Principles of Education
One Year Program, Seniors Only (2017-18)
Two Year Program, Juniors & Seniors (2018-19)
 
Credits: 
4.0 high school elective
5-6 college (based on academic achievement) 
 
Certification & College Credit: students have the opportunity to acquire the following certifications and college credit:
  • First Aid
  • CPR
  • Communicable Disease
  • Child Abuse and Detection 
  • IC3 (Internet & Computing Core Certification)
  • Foundations of Educational Principles
  • Child, Health, Safety & Nutrition
Inspire and Motivate! Make a difference! Teach. Enjoy a career where you can make a positive impact. Teaching Professions introduces the college minded student to the field of education. This is the first foundations course every education major takes whether you want to be a counselor, administrator, or teacher. Observation experiences and hands-on projects help you decide if you are  compatible for a career in education. State-wide college credit is given for successful completion of this curriculum.

Special Requirements: Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0, passing marks on the Ohio Graduation Test, one letter of recommendation from a teacher and an interview with CVCC teacher. Students must have their own transportation.
