Student Clubs & Organizations
Students learn leadership skills while becoming involved in their program area at state and national levels by participation in these outstanding student organizations.
 
National Technical Honor Society- The National Technical Honor Society honors career-technical high school students who excel in scholarship, leadership, service and character. Membership is determined by a student’s scholastic achievement, attendance, conduct, participation in career-technical student organizations and teacher recommendations. Members organize activities that promote school spirit such as the Halloween Costume Contest and fundraisers to help social causes. These activities help develop leadership skills and a sense of school unity and community.
 
SkillsUSASkillsUSA is a national organization of students involved in industrial education. The organization helps students explore occupations through skills competitions and visits to industries, while helping them understand the responsibilities of skilled workers. SkillsUSA promotes solid trade ethics and safety standards while fostering understanding of labor and management. Students develop their leadership abilities as they are establishing realistic career goals. Students in the following programs are eligible for membership: Auto Body Repair, Auto Service Technology, Building & Property Maintenance, Computer-Aided Design, Construction Trades, Cosmetology, Dental Assisting, Digital Design, Electrical Trades, Electronics, Graphic Imaging Technology, Health Careers, Heating & Air Conditioning, Machine Technology, Media Technology, Power Equipment Technology, and Public Health & Safety. 
 
DECA-
 DECA is the youth organization for students enrolled in Sales & Service Fundamentals. The organization prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. DECA's Challenges provide DECA members opportunities to demonstrate the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom through innovative challenges in partnership with several corporate partners. Each challenge has a unique focus and specific set of required tasks. 
 
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA)- The Family, Career and Community Leaders of America helps young people assume roles in society through home economics education in areas of personal growth, family life, preparation for jobs and careers, and community involvement. Activities include participating in local, state and national competitions, community service projects and social events. Students enrolled in the Culinary Arts & Food Services and Hotels & Resorts programs are eligible for membership.  
 
Business Professionals of America (BPA)- The Business Professionals of America is a Career and Technical Student Organization that helps students develop leadership abilities and promotes interest in business and information technology careers. The club, through its annual skill competitions at the regional, state, and national levels, strongly emphasizes high-level competency in business and information technology skills and pride in working toward successful employment. Each program belonging to Business Professionals of America holds elections of class officers, plans fund-raising events, participates in skill competitions, works on service projects and plans career-related activities. Students enrolled in these programs are eligible for membership: Computer Networking Academy, Digital Design, Medical Administrative Specialist, and Programming & Software Development.
 
Educators Rising (Ed Rising) -
Educators Rising, a division of Phi Delta Kappa, is an organization for aspiring teachers. High school students exploring the field of education connect with peers and experts at the regional and state levels as they participate in the Education Professions program at CVCC and Educators Rising functions. Students attend the state conference to participate in events that may lead to national competitions. Participation in both of these programs cultivates highly skilled educators by guiding students on a path to becoming well-prepared, accomplished educators - while still in high school!
 
Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA)HOSA is an organization for secondary and postsecondary/collegiate career and technical education students enrolled in health science (and pre-technical health science) or biomedical science education programs, or for students who are planning to pursue a health career. The mission of HOSA is to empower HOSA - Future Health Professionals to become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration and experience. HOSA develops leadership and technical skill competencies through a program of motivation, awareness and recognition, which is an integral part of the Health Science Education Instructional program. Activities include participating in regional, state and national competitions, community service projects and social events.
