IT's for Girls 2016
8th grade girls from our districts visited CVCC on Dec. 9 and participated in IT's for Girls. The girls were divided into groups and got to visit programs highlighting careers in the IT field. CVCC students got to show off their knowledge and expertise. Area women in information technology careers joined the group to network and speak about their professions.
STEM Career Showcase 2016
Over 450 parents and students attended to learn about STEM careers. 39 companies and societies as well as 18 colleges participated and engaged the attendees with demonstrations and hands-on activities.

SCRUBS
CVCC invited boys from our eight districts to visit programs highlighting careers in healthcare. CVCC students got to show off their knowledge and expertise. Area professionals joined the group to network and speak about their careers.
College Survival Skills - Experience the "Reality"!
High school seniors and their parents learned important topics to discuss before students head off to college in the fall. Senior students rotated through stations where college students from Baldwin Wallace University posed scenarios and asked, "What would you do?"
 
Meanwhile, parents heard from Robin Stone from The Ohio State University Extension on important issues to review with their college-bound students.
 
Panelists Bob Beyer and Timothy Hall from Baldwin Wallace University, David Pelland, CFP, Bear Pelland Associates, and Lt. Chad Cunningham of the University of Akron Police Department wrapped up the evening by discussing how to adjust to college, managing personal finances, and living responsibly and safely.
Benjamin Saves the Books
3rd graders from Willam Foster Elementary School in Garfield Heights visited CVCC's Teaching Professions and Graphic Imaging programs.
Career Development Takes iPads to Twinsburg
Career Specialist, Rich Masino, introduced a variety of educational apps to second and third grade students at Bissell Elementary School. The kids found it very app-ealing!
