New coursework for 2018-19
Mr. Theodore is the instructor for the Public Health and Safety program at CVCC. Public Health and Safety is a rapidly growing career field with many diverse occupations. The Junior year focuses on career exploration, including Firefighting and Emergency Management. Coursework includes Anatomy and Phsyiology, Introduction to Fire Protection, and Math for the Fire Service, National Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
The Senior year first semester focuses on preparing students to take the National Registry of EMT's candidate test. Successful completion of this test leads to en entry level position as an Emergency Medical Technician Basic. In The second semester students complete the State of Ohio Firefighter level 1 and 2 training academy. This course finishes with three days of live fire training. There are approximatley 6 Saturday all day classes dates to be determined.
Class uniforms are required for the program and are to be worn each day.
Mandatory Senior Parent/Student meeting Thursday, August 30th. 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the classroom.
