Considering the Marketing Program?  Here's what you should know.

Students
This is a class you will enjoy. Marketing has a place for everyone from the artist (advertising and design) to the mathematician (market research analyst). If you love to talk (sales and business development) or tweet (social media), or just understand how people behave (market analytics) you will find there is something in marketing you will love to do.

As a co-op program you will work in marketing as part of the class, getting real world experience and a pay check to pay for those senior year expenses and save for college.

This is a class where you will make friends with other students. And you will learn about relationship development - a critical business skill that will help you both personally and professionally.

Parents
Your child will be successful in marketing because it is designed around your child's personal interests. Every industry needs marketing, and when the students share their interests we learn about marketing those things that are of personal interest to them.

Your child will be working so they can help with expenses and college savings. All students are required to work 15 hours per week at a marketing related position. And hands down, there is no better way to learn than to apply the classroom learning immediately in a real work environment.

Your child can earn college credit through the national Tech Prep program. This credit can be used in any public Ohio college and is typically transferrable to other colleges and universities. There are specific attendance, grade and coursework requirements which can be explained by our guidance staff here at CVCC.

Your child will learn about marketing career options that will allow them to be self-supporting members of society. And since we frame the learning around their personal interests, they can see what it takes and what you make to "do what you love." www.Marketingsalaries.com.

Guidance Department
This is a course for college-bound students who know they want to major in business or marketing, and for those who think they might want to major in business or marketing. Program alums work in marketing management both locally and internationally. They come back as gues speakers to encourage current students to take on leadership positions and actively participate in DECA, the club that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing and management, in high schools and colleges around the globe. www.DECA.org.

EmployersStudent Employee of the Month
CVCC students have an excellent reputation in the workplace. Employers evaluate the marketing students quarterly as "excellent" followed by "above average" as the most frequent employer comments. Marketing students routinely win "Student Employee of the Month" awards at CVCC.
